Our Story…
& Why We Have Created The Tiny Heartbeat Heroes UK Charity…
Pictured above is myself (Leo’s Dad holding Leo) with Josh the Paramedic that was first on the scene the night Leo’s incident occurred and Leo’s mum.
When our son Leo was 7 weeks old, Leo’s mum was woken to the sound of Leo gasping for air. We did everything we could to help him but he stopped breathing in our arms and needed CPR.
It was the most horrific and stressful experience imaginable and every parents worst nightmare.
Luckily we both knew what to do and sprung into action. Each second that went by felt like an hour and the pressure I just can’t put into words.
It was about 4 minutes where Leo was lifeless and we thought we had lost him but we didn’t give up and thank god Leo come back around. Then the Paramedic arrived on scene who treated Leo made it very clear afterwards that had we not acted how we did the outcome would of been a very different story.
Leo has since made a full recovery and doing great.
Following this incident (and the massive amount of messages we received via our own separate business pages) from parents saying they would have no idea what to do, we have set up our own charity to arrange & host Paediatric specific CPR and Choking workshops FREE OF CHARGE.
Our workshops to date have been taught by medical professionals such as the East of England Ambulance Service & MAGPAS Air Ambulance.
We are the first charity to ever offer FREE Paediatric specific CPR & Choking training courses in the UK and are working very hard to expand our workshops across the UK .
We sincerely hope you never ever experience what we did that night.
But should you end up in that position or similar then these workshops could make all the difference in your education of how to react in the event of a medical emergency in regards to a child in a CPR/Choking situation.
